Treat Yourself! XOXO
You spend your time in different types of spaces.
Stressful space (work). Messy space (home). And sweaty space (gym).
Time for a relaxing space (the newly opened Tranquil Space spa).
The focus there is on wellness of body and mind. Choose from massage, reflexology, and ear candling, as well as psychotherapy and nutritional counseling. If you’re out for adventure, try a couple’s astrology reading or full-body henna painting.
This may just be a space you’d love to call your own!
The Spa at Tranquil Space, 1632 17th Street NW, between R and Corcoran Streets (202-328-9642 or tranquilspace.com).

Hi, I was very happy to find your blog. I also am a new mom. I did just what you are recommending a few months ago and treated myself to a Mandarin Oriental spa pedicure. It was very relaxing. I would advise anyone who is interested to build in an extra few minutes before and after your pedicure to enjoy the transition room because this comes complimentary with the pedicure service. I didn't build in enough time before my pedicure, but did have a few minutes afterwards to lay back, close my eyes and unwind in the candlelit room with soft music and a refreshing drink. My only complaint was concerning the organic/natural nail polish; although I understand the health benefits of it, I did not come prepared to have my toes exposed for 2 hours to allow the polish to completely dry. (I wore boots when I arrived because it was cold outside and ended up wearing my slippers to return outside so I wouldn't ruin my pedicure.) Overall, though, the spa offered a wonderful experience.
